Services Available Under The Contract
Cervical Screening, Child Health Surveillance, Minor Surgery, Maternity Medical Services, Contraceptive Services (including coil and implant fittings), Childhood Immunisations and Pre-school Boosters, Vaccinations and Immunisations, Flu Vaccinations, Minor Injury.
The Bay (Sexual Health) Clinic
Every Monday 12.30 - 2.00pm and 3.00 - 4.30pm. Both booked appointments and "drop in" are available. Advice on all aspects of sexual health including contraception/condoms/Chlamydia testing/morning after pill. Young people aged 13-24, including those not registered at Sandown, are all welcome.
Cervical Smears
Cervical smear tests are recommended routinely at three-yearly intervals for all women aged 25 - 50 and then five-yearly from 50-65.
Other Clinics
We have clinics for registration medicals, dietary advice and well person. A patient may also request a check-up if they have not
seen the doctor for three years. Patients over the age of 75 may request a check as deemed necessary.
Immunisation Programmes

Adults
Tetanus
All adults who have not had a full primary course of three injections against tetanus
are advised to do so.
Travel Immunisation And Advice
Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss vaccination
requirements at least six weeks before you travel.
Influenza
We offer flu vaccinations commencing in October to all those patients who are over 65 years old and those in risk groups. These include, chronic respiratory disease, diabetics, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, and those who are immunosuppressed due to disease or treatment.
